UoM - CRIS, acronym for Inter-department Research Center on Security, was founded to gather all the security-related competencies available at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The CRIS has an holistic approach to security issues, with a special focus on computer, communication and electronics technologies, high-tech crimes, biochemical sciences, hazardous materials, economic, financial and juridical expertise. CRIS disseminates the security culture through the organization of seminars, workshops, post-graduate Masters ("Information System Security" and "National and International Management of Emergencies "), and through scientific publications. CRIS has 40 permanent researchers in addition to several temporary positions. His members participate and manage research projects on security at national and European level. CRIS collaborates with regional and national institutions and with some of the most important companies in the sector of logical and physical security.
